RORC Racing

The Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) was founded in 1925 in Plymouth after the first Fastnet Race to encourage long distance yacht racing and the design, building and navigation in which speed and seaworthiness are combined. Now based in an elegant clubhouse in St James's Place, London, with a Rating Office in Cowes, on the I.O.W., the RORC is the national authority for measurement and rating of offshore yachts.

Many RORC races are domestic events starting from the Royal Yacht Squadron start-line in the Solent and crossing the channel to such places as; Dieppe, St. Malo, Le Havre and so on. Other races are further a field like the ARC across the Atlantic, the Middle Sea Race in the Mediterranean, and the China Sea Race.
