YACHTS & YACHTING - SEPTEMBER 15, 2000.

ROLEX COMMODORES' CUP…..DAY ONE…(first race)….It was no surprise when the 50 foot "Chernikeef" led at the first mark from "2XL" and "McWolf", racing for Scotland and steered by Mark Heely. However, fourth around the buoy was Tim Dixon and Jon Manley's Ker designed 10.7 Metre, ROARING MEG, the small boat of the European team demonstrating just what a boat, well designed to IRM, could do.

….(second race)…This time it was "Dignity" which chased "Chirnikeef" to the windward mark, but ROARING MEG was up amongst the Farr 40s and went on to record her second victory of the day in the small boat division.

DAY TWO…(third race)……ROARING MEG was the leader of the small boats all the way round, but it was one of the other Ker designs, Paul Chuchill's SHAKERMAKER with Y & Y Website Editor Mark Jardine steering, that just pipped ROARING MEG, by six seconds on corrected time.

…(fourth race)…By the start of the race, the breeze was, if anything, slightly stronger…ROARING MEG was again well up with the bigger boats, the 10.7 Metre IRM level rater showing no respect for her rivals in any of the divisions. At the end of the race, it was only "Victric 5" which had a better corrected time. - report by Bob Fisher.
