On A High famously started with a fantastic performance in the Round The Island race which would have won her the Gold Roman Bowl if she had been entered in IRC rather than IRM, which division was not counted for the overall IRC calculation. After winning the Queens Cup in Cowes Week, she was in line to win the Sir Walter Preston Cup two days later being well ahead in Class 1 (and the cup being won by the leading Class 1 boat ahead of Class 0), but a damaged boom in over 30kts of wind unfortunately forced her retirement late in the race. So this race should have added an additional first place to the record for the same number of starts (plus a clear second overall in Class 1).
I-Site had a similarly impressive season after hitting the water for the Berthon Source regatta. After a good Cowes Week which included winning the Rocking Chair Trophy and finishing a close 5th in Class 1, she had a fantastic set of results in the West country regattas (2nd at Brixham followed by 1st in Class 1 and IRC overall at both Torbay and Dartmouth).
On A High, I-Site and Fair Dos V finished first, second and third in the Queens Cup and I-Site and On A High were first and second in the Rocking Chair Trophy.
All of the first group of six 11.3s have recorded some impressive results.
Cracker came 3rd overall in the IRM division at Berthon Source, 4th overall in IRC at the Royal Southern YC July regatta (behind On A High and Kerisma in first and second) and 2nd overall in the Torbay regatta (behind I-Site). In each case the boat was chartered and so did not have a practised crew.
Kerisma came 1st in Class 1 in the RORC Channel Race (to prove the 11.3s offshore credentials) and 2nd overall at the Royal Southern YC July regatta (behind On A High) recording 2 firsts and 2 thirds.
Minnie The Moocher had a number of good results including 2nd behind I-Site in the last race of the Dartmouth regatta.
Fair Dos V, launched just in time for Cowes Week, recorded 2 third places in Class 1.
